Bio english

When Ucee, a.k.a. Ussama Soleman, signed with Virgin Records at the age of only 15,

many things changed for him, as suddenly all his life centered around music. Born in

Germany and the son of Egyptian-Tunisian immigrants, he had been acquainted with Soul,

R’n’B, and Rap from an early childhood on, and therefore, very soon the studio had

become his second home. It is due to this very early professionalization that the young

musician was soon counted among Reggae & Dancehall’s most versatile artists. Releases

through Ucee’s own label Good Call Records soon replaced earlier label bindings and

today, a successful career underlines the rightness of this decision.

The songs “Sugar“, “One Sound“ and “International“, all produced by

UCee's

long-term
companion Djei Gogo, hit hot rotation on several renowned radio stations around the
world. Since 2010, UCee played shows in Egypt, Gambia, England, Thailand, and Jamaica
and until today entered more than 500 stages as an artist and member of Mortal Kombat
Sound. On his tours through East Europe, he shared the spotlight with Gentleman,
Rebellion the Recaller, Tarrus Riley, Toots and the Maytals, Selah Sue and Alborosie, just
to name a few. Be it at Chiemsee Summer in Germany, at Rototom Sunsplash in Spain or
the Rebel Salute in Jamaica; be it with Mortal Kombat Sound, of which UCee is a founding
member, or with the United Flavour Band, Czech Republic's most famous Reggae band,
until today UCee has fascinated thousands of fans worldwide.
With the release of the "PIneapple Kush Riddim“, UCee showed his skills as a producer for
the first time. The Sampler’s song “New Day“ feat. Rebellion the Recaller hit the Global
Reggae Charts in the same year on 24. Current releases like “The Father“ feat. DJ Vadim
and “Bad Government“ feat. Uno Jahma &
Fredie
Wize add to the success, just as
well
UCee’s
debut album “International Call“ in 2012. With “Bad Government“ produced
by Rootz Radicals, UCee hit the Global Reggae Charts on 11 in September 2018.
If
live
or on record, the melodic love of detail UCee brings from his time as a soul singer
combined with his stylistic range from Lovers Rock to
HipHop
and Dancehall, make him a
unique entertainer in the business. No matter if Ucee performs with Sound System or
Band, this artist leaves nothing to be desired. In order to experience the multicultural
charm and the musical sensitivity of UCee, you‘ll have to see one of his live shows.
